A Place to Call Home
Home ownership has just never been within my reach.

As a single parent with a single income and student loans which will likely never be paid off, I thought it just wasn’t possible.

I have rented three different houses on long-term leases over the last 10 years. Each time, my landlord has decided to sell the house to someone else at the end of my lease, and we were forced to move and start over again.

This includes the house we live in now, which we have truly fallen in love with. We thought we would have more time here.

This endless cycle has given us no sense of security. No stability. No place that is actually home.

After I learned that we would be displaced again in February I reached out to a friend who connected me with a mortgage lender, and it turns out that I’m doing better than I realized. Through very hard work, my credit score improved during the pandemic and I now, for the first time EVER, qualify to buy a home.

The problem is that the housing market is tough right now, so I may not be able to afford something in a safe neighborhood and a good school district that meets our needs without a little bit of help.

But I am SO CLOSE.

I think it’s true that we all get by with a little help from our friends. So, if you could find it in your heart to help our little family take a big step towards a better future, I would love you forever.

And if not, I’ll love you forever anyway!

Thanks,
Adrienne
