We left our rural hill-top home in central Tuscany to come back to the States to care for a parent dying of ALS, and ended up with non-paying squatters for 3 years referred to us by a dishonest estate agent, costing us thousands in lost rent and near foreclosure.

We got our home back last year after a long eviction procedure, and after expensive repairs and clean-up now rent it to vacationers so we can pay its bills.

We had been in the process of building a storage room but it had to be abandoned when the anticipated income stopped and we could no longer afford to pay the builders. We are still trying to recuperate those 3 years of losses, and need to finish our storage room so we can open up more accommodation for more people in our home, and pay the builders who are chomping at the bit to be paid for work already done and work that needs to be completed!
