I created this campaign to help cover the down payment and closing costs as I make my dream of owning an A-frame cabin a reality. This will be an escape in Southern Vermont for family, friends, and travelers. It has been frustrating to be outbid by all-cash buyers with resources to burn, so I decided to share my journey to home ownership on Instagram @cabinjourney - please follow along as I tour homes and begin curating inspiration and renovation ideas!

I would be a first-time homebuyer, the first in my family to purchase a home on their own and have a history of housing insecurity related to the 2008 financial crisis. After working hard to reduce personal debts, student loans, and credit card balances, I am hoping to increase my financial security through equity in a home. Some of my most fulfilling moments were spent helping to renovate a cabin in Big Bear, California in 2016. Having that project was a big motivator and distraction from my mental illness. I find myself to be the healthiest when I have a creative pursuit, and this would be the ultimate project!
