Downpayment for a first home

I'm not a newly wed person nor a person with a sad story to catch your eyes. Due to specific marriage circumstances (of which I am legally still single)... I am required to own a house before I am allowed to ask for my girlfriend's hand in marriage (her parents' rules). Many people have told me to move on and find someone else who doesn't require such, but can you really do that for the person who matters most to you?

At the time of writing this page, the house I desire costs 208,000$ and is, for the most part, my dream home. I am a low income resident of California and couldn't hope to buy a home with my current job for about 30 more years. I am, however, currently under a career change where, if accepted, I will see a 33% annual raise on my salary to be able to afford the mortgage. And no worries, I don't have all my eggs in one basket as I am applying to a variety of jobs.

Though I am asking for 20,000$ (10% of the cost as downpayment), any amount is appreciated. And don't feel obligated to donate anything. I thank you no matter if you did or if you only decided to read this. I'm normally a prideful person and I don't like asking for help, but sometimes you have to do what you don't like in order to take that step forward.

Thank you for your time in reading this, and thank you even more if you decided to donate.
