Thank you so much for visiting our home improvement registry! We really appreciate your willingness to contribute to this project in lieu of a traditional wedding gift. As all of you know, Tim and I have been together for almost 6 years now, and in that time have purchased a house and settled in. We love to cook and entertain, but, sadly, our house has put up a wall (literally) between us and our guests. The kitchen also lacks functionality that would make entertaining, and feeding our future family, harder than it needs to be. For these reasons, we are hoping for some assistance in helping our otherwise wonderful home acheive perfection! 

What the project will entail:

This renovation will involve most of the first floor living space. The two primary pieces are removing the wall between the kitchen and living room (and adding a support beam for the second story) and renovating the kitchen. We envision a new island between the kitchen and living room to allow more functional counter space and the opportunity to interact with our guests... and keep an eye on future kids! We also plan to upgrade and add kitchen cabinets and counters, add a vent hood for the stove (so we don't keep setting off the smoke detector that sends our poor dog, Echo, running for the basement!), and changing out the tile floor to a darker surface that will better hide muddy paws and feet. Ideally, we would also like to remove the wall dividing the living and dining rooms to truly make the space open-plan, which will mean either patching or replacing the hardwood floors in those two rooms as well.

So, as you can see, quite the project! We have dreamed of this for years, and we know this will be the final step in setting up a happy home for all the years to come!
