We know there are many more desperate situations which deserve more attention than ours. However, if you have extra after donating to the extreme needs of others we would appreciate you looking at our need. We borrowed on our 401K to pay cash for an old 1920's Arts & Craft Bungalow home so we could lower our expenses (lots of medical expenses with auto-immune diseases). The house has good bones and worth the repairs, it has great character. It does needs a LOT of work, but we are in love with it and looking forward to spending our retirement years there! We are trying to do most of the work ourselves, but with our old bones it goes slowly. The sooner we can move in and stop paying apartment rent will help tremendously. House needs some foundation repair, new roof, new bathroom, new siding (or pulled off and wood repaired/painted), new heating/ac, interior painting, and the wood floors will be beautiful when sanded and refinished (we pulled up the old moldy carpet). We have already run new electrical wiring throughout most of the house.  Anyway, using a site like this is new to us but friends said it was the '21st Century' thing to do.  I have a lot of 'before' pics for anyone who wishes to see them.
