I currently rent a small rancher on a rather large lot that takes all of my income to manage. I'm also required to pay all the utilities and handle the yard maintenance. I did know this coming in but didn't realize how tough it would be to keep up. I do get a little help from PPL with their program for low-income customers. Thank you, PPL! I'm so lucky to have found that opportunity! I've tried to find rentals that are more affordable but most won't allow pets and I have to stay in my daughter's school district. The list of "must-haves" makes it seriously impossible to find what I'm looking for.

I ran some numbers and realized that there's a great chance I could spend LESS per month as a homeowner than what I'm currently spending as a tenant. I found out about "Feather My Nest" so I'm hoping there's help for me out there in reaching my goal of being a homeowner!
