3 years ago we applied for a Pasadena HUD program that offers low income housing for first time home buyers. Our income and credit were not acceptable enough for the program’s standards at that time, and we were not able to secure a unit in the development. Now a new development is being built, and expected to be completed in October. Since we applied for previous developments, we were able to get bumped to the top of the list for this new one. Now, having fixed our credit and proven job security, we are finalists in the program. The one missing piece for us is being able to show the down payment. It is required to show the down payment and reserves to secure the loan approval from Heritage Housing Partner’s preferred lender. We could use all the help we can get. In addition to working as much as possible, we are also liquidating any assets of value. We will look to our family to get us over the hump, and if all goes well, we will be home owners before the end of the year.
