Some of our friends and family know our story; others don't. For those that DON'T, let me just say that, in January of 2015, Steve and I made a very difficult decision, out of necessity, that changed our lives very drastically. It was a decision we made as a 'short term' solution, to remedy a more 'long term' problem. We haven't talked about it much, except with close family and friends, because, unfortunately, people tend to judge what they are unable to understand. It hasn't been easy for any of us. Most especially Kyleigh and Izabel. But, after nearly 2 years, our end is in sight. All of the sacrifices we've willingly made over these long months are finally paying off.

We've been working with American Financing for the last month, working to get approval for a home loan. And, after jumping through about 100 hoops, and fighting through 100 more hurdles, we have been advised today, 10/6/17, that our loan has been pre-approved, and that OUR DREAM CAN FINALLY BECOME A REALITY! :)

We are beyond elated. We are BEYOND grateful. We are just steps away from having the family home we have all been dreaming of for so long. A place where Izzy can over-fill her bedroom with stuffed animals again, and where Kyleigh can enjoy having her own space (she is an adult now, after all!), with the added perk of Mom cooking for her every night :P

It's not going to be a mansion. But it IS going to be our castle.

The only hurdle left for us is our down payment. We're close to it. Steve is a hard worker, as we all know. And I (Shannon, obviously) have been working overnights, delivering for Amazon, and still working my home based job, to save up for this part. But, we aren't quite there, yet.

Which brings me to why we've opted to set up this Nest. We're here to ask for help. We all wish we had a millionaire Uncle somewhere, to call upon during these hours of need. But, sadly, that's just not a reality for most of us. What we (Steve & I) DO have however, is a whole bunch of wonderful people to call our friends & family. And, if a few of you would allow us to mooch a few bucks off of you to help foster our dream, that would be pretty epic and awesome :)

We do also want to say that anyone who DOES lend us a hand (or $50, or whatever...) WILL be paid back. It may take us a while. But we WILL pay each and every of you back. Whether is a monetary way, or by helping you move, watching your kids, working on your car, walking your dog, feeding you, giving you a place to crash for a weekend (ahem.... here is where I will also mention that we are buying a home in Pueblo..... Come visit us! We'll take you to the Zoo!!), or ANY other sort of (reasonable) favor you see fit to call on us for. We will square up with you. You have our word on that! :)

So, I guess that's about all. If you feel like you want to help us out, we will appreciate you forever. If you can't, we understand. If you just plain don't want to, that's cool too. It never hurts to ask though, right?
