Joyce and Lynn were driving back from a lovely pandemic weekend in Vermont and thought it would be nice to have a place to escape to near DC. In an uncharacteristic moment of spontaneity, Joyce and Lynn bought a fixer-upper in West Virginia the very following weekend! They’d seen all the shows on HGTV and thought, “how hard could it be to renovate this property?” The answer to that question is… very hard. Especially if you don’t know what you’re doing and all the contractors think you’re naive city slickers who will pay for anything.

Needless to say, Joyce and Lynn are learning home renovation as they go. Who needs a general contractor when you have YouTube?

Next up are fixing the roof, demolishing drywall, installing/rewiring electrical, and putting in an HVAC system. Still no running water, but we need something to do over the holidays!
