For better or worse, we are a family 100% devoted to the creative arts.  Located in downtown Louisville, KY we handcraft mouth blown glass for everyday and the days in between.  12 months ago our business was forced to relocate for its 2nd time in five years due to rapid growth development in our downtown neighborhood. Thanks to our family's support we were able to secure a foot hold in the real estate market and purchase a commercial property that once was a scrapyard and eyesore in our neighborhood into a glass hot shop studio.  These relocations have dimished all of our personal savings that we had planned to use to update our 1950's ranch that is in serious need of repairs.  Everyone loves art, but banking institutions apply the brakes on applications when they review our file- as our debt to income fluctuates greatly- high overhead costs, and an economy that doesn't favor 'luxury' goods such as handmade glass.  We wish to make home within the urban core and construct a modest home for our family in the front of our glass studio~a return to the olden days when shopkeepers lived and worked within the same premise, thus eliminating our daily, insane commute, which has doubled in length due to bridge infrastructure, reducing our carbon foot print and weaving ourselves into a genuine neighborhood community where biking and walking are the main modes of transportation.  Our approved house plans and construction estimates requires a budget set at $265,000.00 With cash from the sale of our current home and IRA funds we will bridge the gap.
